The ideas of hope and trust shape our social interactions. Today, many "people see the system as increasingly biased towards the few who succeed exceptionally, they feel betrayed and disenchanted. This perception of an unfair system can push individuals towards more authoritarian models, looking for stability and order amid perceived chaos and injustice. The erosion of trust in democratic processes, which seem to fail to ensure equal opportunity and fair play, drives the shift towards authoritarianism."
